Host family Letter

Oie Meninas Tudo bem??

Bom acabei de escrever minha carta para as familias, e tenho q admitir q não é facil, colei bastante das cartas das outras meninas.. rs
Para a APIA vc tem que escrever uma carta com 600 palavras, eu já estava ate tirando os" It's" e colocando "It is" pra dar as palavras suficientes.. rs Bom colocar minha carta aqui.. Vai que ajuda alguem!

Dear host Family,

My name is Jéssica, i’m 19 years old and I would like to be an Au Pair for the next year.. I live with my mom (51) and my younger sister (16) in Brasilia, The capital of Brazil, which has many historical attractions such as museums and the home of the President. I Also have 1 older brother (24) who lives a few hours away in Minas Gerais. And My dad (54) lives less 3 miles away. My parents are divorced but still good friends.

I can say that I'm really friendly, energetic, honest, organized, responsible and also a very happy, easygoing, caring girl and I fit easily in new situations. I think that new situations in our lives are essential so there is personal development. I don't drink and I don't smoke, and I am not a party girl. I like a lot to be in a familiar ambient and to do familiar programs too.. Since I was a child I learned to be brave and face my fears. I think it is very important when we have dreams. We have to chase them and make them come true.

I'm majoring Law in college, I'm in the middle of my course. People in Brazil say that for you to be a Law student you must love to read, and i do, i read a lot, I love music, have some experience with playing the piano. I also like sports, I run and swim very often, while growing up i was a part of a group called "Desbravadores", that in the US would be like boy scouts, learning about nature, and camp. and I love to roadtrip. My drivers licence, i dont have it for too long, only got it in 12/2013, but already have good experience, I drive everyday, and about 2,5 thousand miles/ month.

I have over one year of experience with children, from 12/2012 till 02/2013 I lived with this family with 2 kids a boy (2-3) a baby girl (9months-2y), It was an amazing experience in my life, i used to have lot of fun with those two, they were very energetic and creative kids, always looking to learn something new. I was responsable for taking care of them and theirs belongings, feeding, bathing, playing, giving medicine when necessary, accompanying them on their friends birthdays, doctors appointments or family activities. Till today sometimes i go visit them and kids love it.

Well, I have chosen the Au Pair program because it will give me the opportunity to improve my English and get to know about another culture, I believe it will be very good for my personal and professional life. During the program, I intend to learn a lot about your culture and I can teach mine.I’m ready and a bit anxious to experience the American lifestyle and I’m determined to adapt to the culture, to new things like the climate and to speak English all day long. I can assure that I will Do my best to be part of your family and making your kids happy and getting used to the things they like, and I will try to be as close as possible to them so both them and yourselves can trust me and feel comfortable around me.  I’m sure that this year that I’ll be there in US will be very profitable for my life and I hope that it would be also with the family that I will be working with. I expect to be their big sister and soon be considered as a family member.

I look forward to hearing from you.

With care and love,

Jéssica Kloos
